Turkish National Football Team, who will be guests to Iceland tomorrow in the UEFA Nations League 4th Group 4th match, answered questions at the press conference held at Laugardalsvöllur Stadium where the match will be played.
Orkun mentioned that they discussed within the team that they have not been able to win against Iceland away, stating “We are comfortable before this match, we have shown good performances and achieved good results so far. Tomorrow, we will do our best to be the generation that achieves the first victory.”
The national player emphasized that the long journey to Iceland and the weather conditions are not an excuse for tomorrow.

Orkun responded to the question about his harmony with Kerem, who they became teammates with, by saying “Kerem’s arrival was good for both of us. Kerem is a fantastic player, I have known him for a long time. It felt like a national team atmosphere even in Benfica. Besides Kerem, there is another player Zeki, he also runs in Turkish, we formed a trio of Turkish speakers. Kerem’s arrival was also good for my performance. I feel more at home this year. Performance is improving, hopefully we can achieve better results.”
Orkun Kökçü, reminded of complaints from some footballers in Europe about the intense match schedule, said, “I am a younger player, 23 years old. I do not feel this pace heavy. I feel more ready when I play more matches. I play almost every match, there is a match every 3 days. For me, it’s better, I think my performance is improving.”
